Riding the Dragon
I cast circle,
ignite a red candle.
His white hair
shines in the light.
He closes his eyes
for the ritual,
speaks firmly aloud
his New Year desires.
He asks
to get closer to God,
resolves
to meditate on this.
Then, turning his hands,
he gives
energy back to the earth
with gratitude. So do I.
