Two railway workers
are checking the tickets
of boarding passengers.
Both are plump,
middle-aged,
with happy faces.
He has a lanyard around his neck;
she is wearing, with her uniform,
green Xmas-tree earrings.
In a moment between passengers,
she dances up on to tip-toe;
they exchange a quick kiss.
