Writing Small Stones


‘It’s difficult,’ he says, and it is —
looking out, paying attention
to the world as it is, not
our ideas of the world.

‘Look!’ I say and he does, 
then struggles to write. I read 
and see that he, who is storyteller, 
must shape even these
into stories. Of course!
