Sunday afternoon
this quiet street
a long shadow
crosses my photograph:

I point my camera
the ibis in the playground
vanish from the picture
coming up the hill
the gladdies are out
in all the gardens
red gladioli
weigh down their stems
late afternoon
the shadow of the hoop pine
crosses the path
ahead of me
