~ and one American sentence ~
wakeful playful
morning cat pauses
for a good wash
*********
from her sweet face
long loud yowling —
she wants me NOW
*********
Spring night
my cat wants play
not sleep
*********
So as to settle purring to sleep she insists on my stroking hands.
*********
my cat curls asleep
wrapped in folds of red blanket
as if in a rose

It sounds like kitty is the boss, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteMy servitude is very willing!
DeleteA nice kitty page, my kitty
ReplyDeleteShe has claimed your red blanket as being her own. I'm not real fond of the American sentence poem, I hope it will be a fad and go away.
Thank you for prompting.
BTW, I explained my situation of ending up off prompt.
..
Oh no, that red blanket is one of hers! It is in a bed on top of her very posh scratching post.
DeleteIt’s fine to go off prompt when the prompt is optional. As they all are now.
Lovely kitty haiku.
ReplyDelete*Smile.*
DeleteThese are such sweet little snippets about your kitty and of course how devoted you are to her.
ReplyDeleteI find the devotion just comes naturally!
DeleteLove the rose poem, so sweet and made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThat's good!
DeletePerhaps the cat IS the rose...
ReplyDeleteLove all your teeny tributes to kittyhood!
Nice thought! Perhaps she is...
DeleteLovely poems all
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday
Much💜love
Glad you enjoyed.
DeleteAhh... so sweet! I love the NOW, because it's how cats do, and it looks and sounds like a demanding MEOW! Which I heard this morning (like most) from my fat cat Benny in the hall.
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteNot much of a cat guy, but I'm now definitely a catku fan. Good stuff, even if it is full of felinity!

DeleteLovely snippets of life in the day of your cat. It seems she is pretty bossy, but there is lots of love around. :)
ReplyDeleteWell she tries to be bossy. Luckily there is enough love around that she is philosophical on occasions when I ignore being bossed … and I always make it up to her later.
DeleteRosemary,
ReplyDeleteYou truly know the personality and habits of your cat.
There's a mutual bond between the two of you, it seems..
There is indeed!
DeleteNo catastrophes or caterwaulin at your house, Rosemary, just an occasional catnap and perhaps occasional catnip? At any rate, it all sounds like the cat's meow!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, you’ve summed it up perfectly.
DeleteYou showed us the life of your cat purrrfectly I think.
ReplyDelete*Grin.*
DeleteOh, I love your kitty. My favorite, wrapped up in the red blanket like a rose. How perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you! So glad you enjoyed them!
DeleteI love reading all your cat's adventures. Did I ever tell you that reading about your cats, in your poetry, was one of the inspirations behind my not-quite-journaling? Well, it was. It was nice to read poetry that sounded like glimpses of current living, and I wanted to do some of the same.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the last one. The red blooming calls to me. So beautiful.
No, you never told me that before. What a truly delightful thing to learn!
DeleteMany years ago (before computers!) I showed a boyfriend my private book of scribbled verses, and he said after reading it, 'It's like a sort of diary in poetry.' I guess I'm still doing that, lol.
Yes, you are!
DeleteAww, I love cats and cat poetry.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad to hear it!
