Rescue Cat


Two years before she miaowed.
Still seldom and effortful, half-strangled.
She prefers to speak with her eyes
and body language. A focused stare, a nudge.

Only one year until purring began.
Sometimes, now, that lasts several minutes.

    Love this one Rosemary. You excel in this domain...capturing the essence, rounding it out just enough to tell us a story without having to write stanza after stanza about it. But the writing remains full, flavoursome, perceptive...it doesn't become terse. The words are delicate and so well studied. Lovely...and good.
