I open ...

I open my door to a cool clear morning – the mountain carved, sharp-edged.

Blooming ...

Blooming in sub-tropic winter: geraniums with deep red petals.

My garden now empty ...

My garden now empty of the cat who loved it – yet still full of her.

Scattered now ...

Scattered now – my mother's neatly tied and ordered bundles of letters.

Grassy banks ...

Grassy banks – horses one side of the river, wallabies the other.

Flowers x 3

In Day 20 of the April Poem A Day challenge at 'imaginary garden with real toads' the prompt is to write three short pieces on flowers, three lines or fewer.  I've posted them to this blog as I regard them all as 'small stones'. The first two are also haiku: one with the traditional 5-7-5 syllables, the other a short-long-short 'English language haiku'. I have used my own photos.

I'm also linking this post to Poets United's Poetry Pantry #447

orange for joy
