Catching the light
his silver hair,
forming smooth wings
either side of his head,
shines; I’m reminded
of white swans
on a sunlit river.
“I always think that the best way to know God is to love many things.” ~ Vincent van Gogh

I may well be asleep when you read and post. Don't panic, nothing's gone wrong and you don't need to do anything – just hang on a little while.

Autumn Approaches
My basil bush
so strong and glossy in Spring
droops now,
and its leaves
are pale and ragged.

Magpie
glides in, touches down
one split second,
lifts back up, skims
the ground, lands,
white wings and tail
spread wide, black edged.
I've become attuned now to seeing small stones.
This one wouldn't fit into a haiku!
